“One’s destination is never a place, but a new way of seeing things” – Henry Miller

Travel is one of the most beautiful things; you can lose yourself in wandering, in the landscapes, in the culture or in the people that you meet. My blog features photographs from my various journeys. However, a wise traveller never despises his own country, so I also try to capture some magic from my hometown, Western Australia. From time to time, I like to share some of my experimental photography or photographic inspirations.

I hope this blog brings you a bit of entertainment for the eyes, hungers your wanderlust or just brings you a smile every now and then.

  1. Thanks for checking out my blog Sam, your banner photo is beautiful. I’m going to Perth next month for 5 days, maybe you can tell me what I should see and do? I’m staying right on Cottesloe beach!

    1. Thanks Lily!
Not sure if you will be here for it but Sculptures by the Seas is running from now to the end of the month right on Cottesloe Beach.

Perth is great for the beaches, which is good because you are right there on the strip!

Catch the train down to Fremantle from Cottesloe. It’s probably one of the most interesting places – it’s full of history, act and good cafes. Some top places to check out in Freo are Little Creatures Brewery, Moore and Moore Café (An eccentric art gallery + café in one building), the beaches, docks and the Freo Markets.

There’s always things happening every now and then like the Rooftop Movies in Perth!

Enjoy your trip over. Hope the weather is all good ☺

      Cheers,
      Sam

  2. I love the Henry Miller quote, it’s right in line with the ones on my own blog, especially Proust’s observation that the art of discovery lies in having new eyes, not new landscapes. I also applaud your curiosity about, love for, your own country, along with the rest of the world. (And… thanks for the like on my latest post!)

  3. I so enjoy looking at your photographs-especially the Santa Monica ones-Thank you too for taking the time to visit Move the Chair-I appreciate you looking! I look forward to seeing more of your work-

  4. Thank you for stopping by my newly hatched blog!

Just curious, as I am VERY new to WordPress…how were you notified of my post/blog? I’ve been clicking around and can’t seem to see anything obvious.

Have a great week! I’m off to work on the next segment.
